The Traditional English Breakfast

When my boyfriend and I have time on the weekend and a can of Heinz Baked Beans in the pantry we love to make and eat a Traditional English Breakfast.  Above are two Traditional English breakfasts that we had the pleasure of making and consuming here in South Texas.

 The first breakfast consists of:

  • Fried eggs (in bacon oil)
  • White Bread Toast
  • Sliced and salted tomatoes fres
  • Heinz Baked Beans
  • crisp Rashers of Bacon
  • Sauteed mushrooms (my boyfriend's own recipe)
  • Sausage patty
  • Coffee

The second breakfast consists of:

  • Fried eggs (in bacon oil)
  • English Muffin (toaster crumpets)
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • crisp Rashers of Bacon
  • Heinz Baked Beans
  • Pancakes and cream
  • Coffee
  • Orange Juice
Black Pudding is also something served in a Traditional English Breakfast, but we could not find any of this, readily, in South Texas.

Also, in the UK, the tomatoes and white bread are traditionally fried in the leftover bacon oil.

I think many people living in the UK would take tea over coffee, so this is a bit of a change up here in America.

So, here's to the Traditional English Breakfast!  If you have nothing to do one weekend morning, make this breakfast, because it's so delicious and you won't need to eat until Dinner time.
